Primary Gyratory Crushers

The spider arms of the ETCL Primary Gyratory Crusher are an integral part of the spider assembly (one-piece casting) to ensure adequate rigidity when crushing large/hard rocks in the upper region of the crushing chamber.
The main shaft of the ETCL Primary Gyratory Crusher is hydraulically supported, ensuring easy automatic setting of the crusher gap and discharge of tramp material.

Features and Benefits

The ETCL Primary Gyratory Crusher utilises a spherical bearing instead of a spider bush design, which results in extended life of components, improved machine availability and reduced OPEX. This also allows more eccentric movement in the upper region of crushing chamber for crushing large rocks.

The wear liners of the ETCL Primary Gyratory Crushers can be grooved (depending on application). This improves nipping ability, resulting in an improved product PSD with fewer fines generated and improved product shape. Additional benefits are energy savings of up to 25% and improved liner utilisation.

The interface between the mantle and the main shaft of the ETCL Primary Gyratory Crushers is a threaded collar, shrunk-fit onto the main shaft. There is thus no screw thread on the shaft itself which can raise stress in the shaft.

The ETCL Primary Gyratory Crushers utilises a spiral bevel gear for more efficient power transfer and lower noise levels during operation.

The ETCL Primary Gyratory Crushers concave liner design is such that only one row of concave liners can be changed at a time, resulting in improved safety during installation and removal.

IMS Engineering can also supply Secondary Gyratory/Super Coarse crushers. These crushers are also hydraulic type machines with a large capacity and a high crushing ratio. A large feed opening enables the crushing of large feed size whilst being operated at comparatively small settings.

Secondary Gyratory crushers has certain specific advantages compared to jaw or large cone crushers in various applications.

Due to the geometric configuration of the secondary gyratory crusher crushing chamber, the crusher product tends to be more cubical, resulting in the formation of less slab-like product compared to the product produced by a jaw crusher. The crusher retains its ability to prevent slab-like material from being discharged even when the liners are near the end of their life. The product shape and reduced maximum lump size discharged by the secondary gyratory crusher over the entire liner life is hence superior compared to that produced by a jaw crusher, even when the jaw crusher is fitted with a completely new liner set and operating at the same setting. The more cubically shaped product is ideally suited as feed for downstream processes compared to the more slab-like product of a jaw crusher. The greatly reduced maximum lump size will also resolve any blocking issues downstream and prevent unnecessary damage to the conveyor belts due to the abnormally sharp edges and excessive lump mass produced by a jaw crusher.

Compared to a cone crusher the crushing chamber geometry of a secondary gyratory crusher lends itself more to optimisation of the nip angle of the crusher to suit a specific application. The secondary gyratory has a relatively long, almost vertical crushing chamber compared to a cone crusher (which is short and compact) and the crushing chamber thus has enough space/height available to allow for a higher flexibility to optimise the nip angle.
